Spectroelectrochemistry combines the best features of electrochemistry and spectroscopy, and overcomes the limitations that they have separately. A spectroelectrochemical experiment contains electrochemical and spectroscopic information about a chemical system, allowing the study of a wide range of processes from different points of view.
Compared with traditional spectroelectrochemistry, time-resolved spectroelectrochemistry displays inherent advantages for evolving processes, allowing the application of this technique in organic and inorganic chemistry, materials science, sensing, electrocatalysis, batteries, life science, etc.

Speaker Profile: Dr. David Ibáñez Martínez
David Ibáñez Martínez obtained his PhD in Chemistry in 2015 at University of Burgos (Spain), with a work focused on the development of new devices for time-resolved Raman Spectro-electrochemistry. During these years, he has published in collaboration with Prof. David Fermin at Bristol University and Martin-Kalbac of J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry. From 2015 to 2017, during his postdoctoral position at University of Burgos (Spain), David’s work was focused on the electrochemical fabrication of Janus materials and their study by UV/Vis and NIR Spectro-electrochemistry. Currently, David is Product Specialist in Spectro-electrochemistry in Metrohm Dropsens.
